The "Bede Gold Medal" is the highest and most prestigious award that
can be bestowed on an Antonian. The medal, was originally
presented by John Barnet Esq., in 1939, to the 'Most Outstanding
All-Round Student' in memory of Right Reverend Dr. Dom Bede
Beeckmeyer, D.D., OSB, to whom St. Anthony`s College will be ever
grateful for Purchasing the site of the present home at Katugastota
